New to GeekShow and not exactly sure what they're talking about? Here's a quick reference for some of the goings-on, historical events, and inside jokes you'll here referenced over and over again. This list will be growing by leaps and bounds soon.
Why three shows at a time? - Originally Geekshow was recorded every week. But in an effort to win Operation:Keep the Spouses Happy, the panelists decided to film three episodes back to back. The first show of the set usually covers current geek events. But in an effort to keep the fans informed, the second and third shows have a Broken News segment that covers the breaking news of the week.
Third Show / Dai San Sho - These shows are the last ones recorded in each session and are definitely the drunkest of them all. Some of the greatest episodes of all time (see Hollandaise in Cambodia - February 24, 2014) are third shows. Dai San Sho was coined back in November 2014 on the Episode called Dai San Sho when the panelists wondered what Third Show was in different language. The little anime-like Japanese voice won them over and it's been used ever since
Fourth Show - A VERY rare occurrence, a Fourth Show will be recorded due to scheduling around major events. There are usually extremely drunk and extremely funny. Examples of Fourth Shows are...
New Episode begs "Not in the eye!" - April 30, 2012
Episode 4 A New Hope Into Darkness - June 16, 2013
Comic Con 2003 - July 21, 2013
I think I Judge You - January 26, 2015
Hold Me Closer, Tiny Lister - September 21, 2015
I don't know what to do with my hands - This was first discussed on the 12-16-13 episode called Jay Hates This Episode. During a discussion that enumerated the wonders of fellatio, Jay mentioned that he doesn't have the attention span to enjoy them. The cast "politely" asked what the f $#€ was wrong with him, to which he stated that he doesn't know what to do with his hands while it is occurring. Each panelist explained a particular proper response including Shannon clapping his palms and screaming Yay!!!!!!!
Geek Show Windowless Van - first introduced in the Drives a Windowless Van episode in January 2014. Jimmy mentioned that if you want to find celebrities during Sundance, just hang out at the airport where the limo drivers pick them up. The panelists hatched a plan to act as drivers to lure the celebrities into the Geekshow Windowless Van where they would conduct interviews where the questions would be non-confrontational, but would be delivered confrontationally.
Dr. Reefer - Introduced during the San Diego Comic Con 2014 episodes. As Geekshow drove the van down to SDCC, they ended up stuck in Las Vegas traffic. They noticed billboard after billboard stating "Need (picture of a pot leaf)? Call Dr. Reefer at...". So for the next three hours, all the panelist traded off creating messages they would leave on Dr. Reefer's answering machine. Listen to the episode for all the examples.
Glenn Hahn's wife - Referenced in the Rappist episode of 12-8-14. in a prior episode, the panelists broke into their versions of a British accent. Later on, an English fan named Glenn listened to the episode with his wife and she was so offended by the horrendous accents that she wouldn't listen anymore and forbid Glenn to play it in her presence. This has caused the panelists to devolve into the worst British accents possible whenever an English story comes up, just to mess with his sex life.
Spring break 2009! LAKE HAVASU FOREVER!!!! - during the February 26, 2015 episode named "... is pretentious" Shannon, explained the origin. The term bloomed from an inside joke between Shannon and Jimmy during Kerry's surprise party weekend at Deer Valley. They found two dinosaur puppet heads on sticks in the toy box in the hotel main lobby. They created a storyline where these two dinos, named Bruce and Dern, were former frat brothers, and reunited at the hotel. They reminisced about the epic Spring Break 2009 trip to Lake Havasu all weekend long. Jimmy's dino, Dern, broke and Kat was unable to repair him, so Bruce sent video messages to Jimmy looking for Dern for days until eventually giving up.
Leshay Wolfrayne - Mentioned in the Bitches Love Groot episode, this is the name that was bequeathed to Shannon by the people on the Mount (Park City). He was also bequeathed a name by the West Valley City mutants, Cletus Mudflap, (Introduced in the March 2015 Pop, Pop, Pop episode). Kerry also was granted a Mount name later, Blaine Cardigan.
Triple T, Quad T, Penta T, and other variations - Tony has had the moniker of Triple T (Too Tall Tony) since his introduction to the show. He earned his fourth T during the RIP JMV episode when he read the Urban Dictionary definition of Trill, becoming Too Tall Trill Tony. The fifth T was temporarily added during a conversation about porn and turtle videos during the Rumspringah episode in June 2015 (definitely listen to appreciate). This T has faded over time, but in subsequent episodes, Ts have been added and subtracted due to Tony's participation. There has been Octo T, Infini-T, Human Centi-t, and more.
Uncle Kerry's Rapeytime Story Hour - Back in June 2010, Kerry wanted to present the awesomeness of Jason Aron's writing in some of the Marvel Max titles. So he created the Rapeytime Story Hours where the other panelists would wrap up blankets, get a snack and a drink, and Kerry would regale them with bloody and horrific stories of Punisher and Deadpool.
Roll of plaid shirts - Mentioned in the April 11, 2011 episode called Who Has A Dirty Flannel? You do! and references in a number of following episodes, it's what George Lucas does when he runs out of clothes. He goes down to the Costco and buys a roll of plaid shirts.
Order 69 - Started on the podcast with the date May 30, 2011 called New Episode Farts Freedon in your Earhole, Sexywomenofcosplay.com banned Shannon from their Facebook Page for stating that the site didn't have to post the rules of the site every few hours and that they were rather swift in banning people for making comments about the models. Shannon decided to exact his revenge by unleashing the GeekShow throngs upon the site. He asked them post Nice Vagina multiple times on as many pictures as they could when he executed Order 69 on June 16, 2011. The resulting attack was devastating. The owner of the site eventually sent an apology letter to Shannon, perhaps, in Shannon's own words, "out of pity."
Shannon's 7-11 - At the end of 2011, Shannon "quit" his teaching job and "started working" at the 7-11 at 1300 South 500 East. He's been advertising amazing specials, like 12 for 1 big bite hot dogs that are only good when he's there. Many Geekshow listeners have stopped by and asked for him, but for some reason he's never there. It's as if he's still teaching somewhere and never worked for that Sev...
The Internet - Shannon started an impersonation of the Internet on the August 12, 2012 episode. During a discussion about making three Hobbit movies instead of two, it rose it's ugly head as just a generic internet troll screaming No or Goddammit, but it quickly developed into a cranky old curmudgeon called Earl "the Internet" Lapinsky, disagreeable and hating just about everything. He was eventually killed by Jimmy's character, Tango Cash when he attacked Bill Murray following a zombie attack during the Role Playing Episode - October 15, 2012 - GSPC-LOL-RPG
WHO IS THE FEMALE?! -This was first referenced in the September 10, 2012 episode called Popped Out of its Shark. Originally it was a random comment on Kerry's Facebook page referring a picture of his wife holding an alligator. Of course, the panelists ran with it, so now it is the initial question/battle cry uttered whenever a new woman dares enter the basement.
Are Jay and Jimmy Married? - Explained in Getting Murried - March 17, 2014. Um... no. But it was a joke that started at Kat's Birthday Party in 2013. Jay in a Spider outfit and Jimmy in a '68 Batman performed drunk Karaoke and someone took a picture. Jimmy created a Save the Date card announcing that they were to be wed on March 17th, 2014. This developed into an on-air showmance where they have acted like spouses. They have threatened divorce many times but these two crazy kids always work out their differences.
Pillowface Jenkins - In the episode rightfully named Pillowface Jenkins, Jay was recovering from an overactive night of celebrating his beloved Kings winning a series. During the recording, he could only lay on the couch with a pillow over his face to block out the evil light. This quickly devolved as Jay couldn't speak clearly, so he began channeling the spirit of the late great blues artist Pillowface Jenkins for the rest of the episode.
